The following items were discussed at the regular monthly meeting of the Stratford Town Council.
Veterans Monument Naming Policy
A policy was approved at which outlines the process to have a name added to the Town of Stratford's veterans monument. Veterans who served in World War I, World War II, or Korea and who lived in the Town of Stratford, or in the Stratford Area, if their name is not recorded on another monument, are eligible to have their name recorded on the monument. Any person who is eligible can be nominated to have their name on the monument by contacting the town's Community Engagement Coordinator and submitting the information required to demonstrate their eligibility. The Community Engagement Coordinator will determine eligibility based on the information submitted and approve or deny the request and, if approved, arrange to have the name added to the Monument.
Zoning and Development Bylaw Public Meeting
Members of the public are invited to attend a meeting on Wednesday, September 26th at 7:00pm in the Southport Room at Stratford Town Centre, 234 Shakespeare Drive, Stratford, PE. The purpose of the meeting is to allow residents, landowners and the business community an opportunity to provide comment on the proposed Town of Stratford Zoning and Development Bylaw, Bylaw #45. The proposed bylaw has been prepared pursuant to Sections 18 & 20 of the Planning Act and extensive proposed changes to the current Zoning and Development Bylaw have necessitated the creation of a new Bylaw. Bylaw, Bylaw #45 will be available in the near future for review on the Town's website at www.townofstratford.ca.
