The Infrastructure Department includes the former Public Works and Stratford Utility departments into one department. The Infrastructure department is responsible for maintenance of all Town owned properties and facilities as well as for municipal water, sewer, sidewalks, and trails.
Grass cutting and snow removal of most Town owned properties as well as sidewalks is contracted on a tender basis. Snow is cleared only from sidewalks and trails within the public right of way.
All roads and ditches within the Town are owned and maintained by the province. The province is responsible for salting, snow clearing and reinstating snow plow damage on these roads. The province is also responsible for all storm water drainage issues. Any concerns with this infrastructure may be directed to the Provincial Department of Transportation, Infrastructure and Energy.
The Town issues invoices on a quarterly basis in January, April, July and October. All properties within the Town of Stratford, where service is available, are subject to water and sewer charges as outlined in the policy below. As of 2018 the Town of Stratford has also implemented a mandatory water metering program required by all water customers. More information on the water metering program can be found here. Any questions regarding your bills can be directed to (902) 367-3228 or (902) 569-6258.
