Activities or events
Below are some examples of activities that families and seniors can do together:
- Share family occasions and explore the community together (e.g. visit the parks, attend community events together)
- Anything as simple as sharing a story, pushing a swing at the park, etc.
- Teach your new 'grandchild' a new skill (e.g. how to tie their shoelaces, how to read the clock, play chess, play an instrument, cook, etc.)
- Provide a supportive environment to the parent(s). This may be as simple as being there to listen to their frustrations and concerns or it could include providing an occasional meal to a busy family. Matches will work out together what is needed and how/if the other party can assist.
