All emergency services in the Town of Stratford, including the RCMP, Cross Roads Fire Department and Island EMS, are housed at the Stratford Emergency Services Centre on Georgetown Road.

Police Protection in the Town is provided through a contract with the RCMP.

For emergencies, call 911 or for non-emergency services, please call (902) 367-9300. The officers assigned to police the Town of Stratford enforce various federal and provincial statutes in the Town such as the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act. In addition, the members also enforce the Town’s Noise and Nuisance Bylaw.  

Anyone with concerns about the conduct of an RCMP member may call the Commission for Public Complaints Against the RCMP (CPC) at 1-800-665-6878 and talk about these concerns with one of the CPC staff.  


Fire TruckFire Protection

Fire Protection in the Town of Stratford is provided through a contract with the Cross Roads Fire Department. For emergencies call 911 and for non-emergency services please call (902) 569-3473 (note that the non-emergency number is not monitored as the department is fully staffed by volunteers). The Cross Roads Fire Department is a not-for-profit company that was set up to provide fire protection services to Stratford and the surrounding area and it is manned entirely by dedicated volunteers.

Ambulance service is provided by Island EMS island-wide. The Stratford base is located at the roundabout on Georgetown Road.  For non emergency service, please call 1-877-660-6644 (please note that while bases are manned 24 hours, the ambulances may be mobile in the area, responding to emergency calls and transfers). For emergency service, please call 911.

The hospital that serves the Town of Stratford is the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, which is a short drive from Stratford, just off Riverside Drive in Charlottetown. For emergencies, please call 911. For non-emergency services, please call (902) 894-2111.
