The following items were discussed at the Town of Stratford special council meeting held on Thursday, March 28, 2024.
Revised Schedule ‘A’ to the Fees Bylaw, Bylaw #39
Schedule A includes the fees set for licenses, permits, programs, facility rentals and other matters. As part of the budget process, Schedule A is reviewed annually and a resolution for this revision was approved.
Stratford 2024/25 Budget

Utility Tariff
As a result of increased expenses arising from the high cost of inflation, utility rates for the current year were reviewed. The Stratford Utility Tariff for 2024 was approved by resolution.
Lot Coverage Increase in Phase 1 of Reddin Meadows Subdivision
A resolution was approved for the new landowner, Hansen Property Group's request to increase the maximum Lot Coverage Ratio from 30% to 40% for seven of the eleven single-unit dwelling lots in Phase 1 of this project. A couple of conditions are required to be met for this approval to be effective, including buildings must be located outside of drainage easements and within development standards as well as confirmation that this increased lot coverage ratio will not adversely impact adjoining properties.
Appointment of new Directors to the Crossroads Rural Community Fire Company
A resolution was approved for the appointment of two residents, Bernadette Milner and Rick Richard, to serve on the Board of Directors of the Crossroads Rural Community Fire Company.
Housing Accelerator Fund
Council has approved the proposal for the Town of Stratford to enter into the Housing Accelerator Fund Contribution Agreement with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. This funding will enable the Town to address the housing crisis and enhance its ability to develop and implement sustainable housing projects.
