The following items were discussed at the regular monthly meeting of the Stratford Town Council held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.
Zoning and Development Bylaw Amendments
First reading of a resolution was approved with a 5-1 vote, supporting several text amendments involving the addition of the use “Stacked Townhouse Dwelling” into nice (9) residential zones; new lot development/parking standards for stacked townhouse dwellings; an adjustment of the townhouse uses within the Medium Density Residential (R2) zone and other general housekeeping amendments to clarify the Town of Stratford Zoning and Development Bylaw #45. Second reading is planned for the December council meeting.
Rezoning Denied
An application to rezone five lots located off Swallow Drive from the Low Density Residential (R1) zone to the Planned Unit Residential Development (PURD) zone to consolidate the five lots into one parcel to construct two 10-unit Stacked Townhouse buildings was not approved following the recommendation of the Planning, Development and Heritage Committee as well.
